Acknowledgement

The purpose of an Acknowledgement if for a Signer, whose identity has been verified to a declared Notary or a Notarial Officer that he/she has willingly signed a document. 

 In short, an Acknowledgement is used to verify the identity of a signer and to confirm the person is who signed the document.
